Paddle Route
This year’s event features two paddles, a Family & Beginners’ Paddle and the YeeHaw! River Paddle. The YeeHaw! Paddle will take place on the stretch of river from the paddle access at Shallow Ford Natural Area to the dam at Indian Valley Golf Course. This 4.2-mile stretch is appropriate for beginner paddlers, featuring a blend of flat water and class 1 rapids with beautiful views of the river and its wildlife. It will take approximately 2 hours to paddle this section. To learn more about this section follow this link: https://www.thehaw.org/paddle-trail/river-section-guides/shallow-ford-natural-area-to-indian-valley/

Participants will need to bring their own boat or arrange rental in advance with a participating outfitter: (Haw River Canoe & Kayak Company, River Run Outfitters, and Three Rivers Outfitters). Outfitter contact information is available at https://www.thehaw.org/land-trail/amenities/outfitters/. No extra rental boats will be available at the event.

The Family & Beginners’ Paddle route begins at the Indian Valley Paddle Access below the dam. Participants will have an hour to paddle up and down the flat water section between Indian Valley and the Glencoe Dam. Boats will be provided at no cost by our sponsoring outfitters. NO personal boats please. No walk ups you must register in advance.
