Protect our streams from unwanted and unsafe Christmas throwaways!! Many times as we rearrange for Christmas we see a lot of items that need to be discarded, old paint, oil, batteries, household chemicals. What do you do with all of those items?
First – Take an inventory of what you have. If at all possible and if the item is still good, it is best to go ahead and use the items as needed until they are used up before putting them in the trash.
Second– Items that cannot be used need to be recycled or taken to a place that can properly dispose of them. Flushing them down the toilet or tossing them in the woods should never be done.
Third – Once you have your items gathered, find the best place to dispose of them. Where you do this varies depending on where you live.
